Part of the inscription on Jonathan and Rosalind's gravestone in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto
A new 'Goforths of China' biography by Lois Neely.
In 1888, newly-weds Jonathan and Rosalind Goforth left Knox Presbyterian Church
in downtown Toronto for China, where they spent the next 47 years. There they
experienced hardship and heartache, including the loss of four homes and five
children. In spite of enormous personal sacrifice, during these years they
built a magnificent "church without walls", a church that was tested, but
survived and flourished.
"Through Deep Waters to Higher Ground" is a new biography of the Goforths
written by Canadian author Lois Neely. This is the story of a single-minded
young couple, fully committed to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the
people of China. It tells of their shared total commitment to the unfailing
love and goodness of God.
You will be challenged, blessed and encouraged by the Goforths' story.
Copies of the book are available through Knox World Mission for $10.00 CDN,
